Commonly Asked Questions

How can clients work with The Prinz Law Office?

The Prinz Law Office provides hourly rate services as well as fixed project rate and flat rate, subscription and fractional services, so there are multiple ways to engage the firm.

Who do clients work with when they engage The Prinz Law Office?

Clients generally work with the firm’s founder, Kristie Prinz, when they retain the law firm; however the firm is in the process of building a team and will make available optional alternatives as new team members become available.

Is the firm willing to work with outside general counsel service providers or other law firms?

The firm routinely works with outside general counsel service providers and other law firms on matters that fall within our specialized practice.  As long as the scope of our services and the responsibilities is clear and does not overlap with the representation of the outside general counsel or law firm, this firm welcomes this type of engagement.

Do you work with individuals?  If I have an individual budget rather than a corporate budget, how might it be best to work together?

The firm represents individuals as well as businesses.  If you are engaging us individually, we recommend that you consider working with us either on our new subscription plan basis, a fixed project basis, or a flat rate basis.  These plans were designed with the needs of the individual in mind.

Do you work with start-ups?  If I have a start-up budget rather than a mid-market or large company budget, how might it be best to work together?

The firm represents start-ups as well as mid-market and large companies and institutions.  If you are engaging us as a start-up, we recommend that you consider working with us on a subscription plan basis, a fixed project basis, a flat rate basis, or a fractional basis.  These plans were all designed with the needs of the start-up in mind.

Is it possible to work with the firm on an hourly basis and agree to a maximum amount of hours to spend on the project?

Yes!  We can cap the number of hours we will work together but if the job requires more hours to complete than we have agreed to spend on the job, we will need to stop work until a new agreement is reached.  Also, we will not be able to accept additional work requests from you (or an opposing party) once the cap is met until a new agreed is reached.

Is it possible to work with the firm only on an as-needed basis when we need to consult with you?

Yes!  We suggest that you consider either a subscription or flat rate plan in the event you anticipate very sporadic consultation-based needs.

How large is the retainer requirement at The Prinz Law Office?

The firm typically sets retainers based on the volume of work anticipated.
